Marc ALEN - ECLO President

Marc was born Antwerp, Belgium. He is happily married to Ingrid - a psychologist - and has two children. He is an electronics engineer from the University of Leuven and has an MBA degree from the Antwerp Handelshogeschool. After graduating, he worked for two American multinationals and subsequently became the founder and General Manager of Arboth Learning Technologies, an organisation specialising in web based learning. His main interest is how technology can support both organisations and individuals in finding ways to stimulate and enhance learning. This activity has resulted in close contacts with the Flemish Government and the European Commission.

Support - ECLO Treasurer

Jim has been the Treasurer of ECLO and Executive Board Member since 1996 and in conjunction with his wife, Brigitte, provides the ECLO network with their administrative support and event management. His background is primarily in IT having held international management positions in the UK, Belgium and the USA. During one of his periodic sojourns outside the IT world, he was part of the team that established the Public Sector Consultancy Practice at IBM, working extensively with UK local and central government organisations. He was also the world-wide Programme Manager at IBM's international education centre in Belgium (where ECLO was conceived), where he designed, developed and delivered education programmes for an international audience of IBM and customer executives in Europe, USA and Latin America.

 Daniel BeletDr. Daniel Belet  graduated in political science, in economics  and in business administration from the University of Bordeaux. He also received a M.S. in management from the Kellogg School of Management (USA). He is the author of 2 books and several articles and presentations in international conferences about executive education, human resources development, consulting practices and methods, learning organization development,leadership, etc. for about 15 years. He is a member of ECLO since 1993 and of SOL – France since 1999. Dr. Daniel Belet is presesently working as an independent leadership development and a learning organization consultant. He  also facilitates conferences and seminars with large companies especially about learning organization development as acknowledged expert. He is also teaching management at the La R the London School of Economics in 1977 and a doctorate in Economics and Business Studies from Leeds University in 1990. After 18 years on the staff of Bradford University, he was appointed to his first chair in 1997 as Director of the Employment Research Institute in Edinburgh, and joined Toulouse three years later.

Andrew HALDANE

He is currently managing the Flexible Learning Pathfinder at the University of Derby, an initiative supported by the Higher Education Funding Council for England concerned with the scalability of innovative flexible and work-based learning provision. Having spent his early career in industry and Business School teaching Andrew has, for the last 20 years specialised in research, consultancy and implementation in the field of Flexible and Technology Enhanced Learning and on projects concerned with widening participation. Previously he was a director of Learning Futures Ltd. and Director of SOLU (Staffordshire Open Learning Unit). During the 1990s he served for six years as Chair of BAOL (British Association for Open Learning).From 2001-2004 Andrew was Vice-chair of the PROMETEUS European expert network in technology-enhanced learning and has served as an external expert to the EU Commission unit responsible for programmes in this field. Over the past 14 years Andrew has worked as a partner in, or co-ordinator of, many national and trans-national collaborative projects in his field including seven in the EU R&D Framework programme. Andrew has been a member of the Executive Board of ECLO since 1994.

Jozefa Fawcett

Józefa works as an Independent Learning Consultant and provides interim learning support through her company The POL Experience. She is also a Partner/European Business Development Director for KnowledgeWorx Ltd a privately owned knowledge consultancy that provides cognitive mapping/knowledge profiling tools that identify and facilitate improved knowledge sharing across three bi-polar dimensions – knowledge, skills and attitudes – moving individuals from simply knowing into doing. 

She has 30 years of learning instructional/specialist expertise, working in a series of varied roles such as make-up artiste/teacher, national promotional consultant, sales executive manager, recruitment manager, healthcare tutor, training and management development across well known UK-based organisations in the public and private sector.  She has a deep interest in the interrelationship between individuals and teams and in enabling managers to understand how to value this wealth of knowledge within the organisation - which she sees as fundamental to effective performance management systems and Organisational Learning success.  She has published articles on Knowledge Management (KM) and is an enthusiastic and experienced speaker at International conferences and as a part-time lecturer at two top London Universities.

Clement Leemans

Clement is a long time OD practitioner, who took over the years multiple roles in the field of Learning & Organizational Development in large, international organizations (ING, Belgacom and Lafarge).  He worked with large international networks and did training and consulting work throughout the world. (Russia, China, Latin America, USA, Africa). His focus gradually shifted from instructional design and facilitation work to organizational learning processes, experiential learning, internal consulting & change management.  As a professional in Learning & Development he developed over the years a real expertise in linking work & learning, creating processes and interventions that make the ‘workplace’ the most powerful learning opportunity at the same time.The last few years he works as independent consultant, helping organizations to build ‘sustainable learning & work processes’, creating an effective Learning & Development vision and strategy in linkage with the business strategy and performance.He teaches Organizational Development at Ehsal in Brussels (Master in International Business Management)
