Knowledge and Learning Infrastructure (KALIF)                                  1998 - 2000

This project commences in late 1998 and aims to provide a knowledge management and organisational learning framework for the 16 projects supported by the new EU’s Esprit thematic programme, `IT and Learning for Industry’.

The project is led by Kenniscentrum Cibit (who are also an E.C.L.O. member) which manages an active knowledge management network. The project will be establishing an Internet-based knowledge infrastructure as well as organising sharing days, a conference and dissemination activities for the programme.

The aim of the project is to apply principles and concepts involved in organisational learning to an entire EU programme. This innovative project will seek to establish an effective learning environment for both the EU, the research & development projects involved in the programme and its two principle partners and the members of their respective networks.

The project also seeks to establish three user groups of industrialists interested in the subject of the programme to examine the potential broader exploitation of the projects under development. Members of the user groups will gain an early insight into state-of-the-art projects in this important field. User groups will meet with the projects as well as interact electronically. E.C.L.O. is responsible for this part of the project as well as the sharing days and the conference which is likely to take place in 2000.

As with all E.C.L.O. R&D projects, results will be available to E.C.L.O. members at no charge.
