 Creating Value from Knowledge

I am Jozefa Fawcett, and I am an ECLO Executive Board member and I would be extremely grateful if you could help me and take 10-15 minutes out of your day to complete this 'cognitive mapping' exercise.  It has been in constant development for the last five years and in use for three, although there have been many iterations along the way, however I now feel that it is ready to be more widely distributed but before doing so I want to give it a final test and hope you can help me with this.

This tool can be used before people attend your training session to get them in the right place to learn and get the most from your session or whole programme.  It can also be used before starting a coaching programme to enable individual to best understand the coaching model and the concept of self-awareness and reflection and I have used it with many of my University students as part of their formal education courses.

The responses I have received over the last three years of use has been very encouraging, with users reporting 75% accuracy over 80% of the time - giving us clear face validity.

There are two versions of the document.  The Word 2007 version (docx) is available directly from Jozefa at jozefa@learningvoice.tv and allows you to actually click the radio buttons to choose your situation and type in the scores direct onto the questionnaire.  If your machine doesn't run Word 2007, then open the 2003-97 Word version (doc) which means you will need to highlight or bold the situation you choose and type the score next to each statement as neither the radio buttons nor the score boxes will work in this lower version.

For those of you that have another first language other than English, I would be very grateful to know how easy it is to understand in its current written English form.

My intention is to make this tool available in a range of other languages with the help of my friends and colleagues, of course and to that end I am looking to commission those of you who could undertake a piece of translation work.  I am looking in particular for those who can act as translators of this questionnaire (and its results) initially from the English to Russian, French, German, Polish, Italian, Dutch, Spanish, Greek, Hungarian, Danish, Bulgarian, Romanian, Indian and Belgian (and any other languages that you clever people might speak).  If any of you would like to take on this work please contact me and we can discuss rates.  My timeframe is flexible and is likely to continue into the first half of next year, so there is no rush before Christmas!

As a thank you for taking the time to help me, I am granting you licence to use this 'cognitive mapping' tool FREELY with your friends, work colleagues and clients for a period of six months up to end of July 2009.  Simply distribute it in its two electronic forms or download and issue on paper to whoever you want, get them to complete it and then save the electronic version or scan the handwritten paper version to their computer and send it to me at jozefa@learningvoice.tv in order to receive their FREE analysis report.
