positive reputation globally due to the educational and practical placements
offered to Clinical and Non Clinical professionals. UnitingCare Health is 1 of 4

strategic objective and transforming this organisation (as well as assisting the
other agencies) through all of the people.

CPD, as a key component of lifelong learning, can be defined as the systematic maintenance and improvement of knowledge, skills and competence, and the enhancement of learning, undertaken by an individual throughout his or her working life. The CPD Institute is an international cross-professional body established to offer recognition to, and provide support for, all those, whatever their discipline, who demonstrate a personal commitment to their own CPD and recognise its value to their clients, colleagues and society in general. The grade of Member (MInstCPD) is open to individuals who confirm their commitment to their own CPD and support the concept of CPD as an integral part of lifelong learning. Individuals who meet the criteria for the grade of Member and who, in addition, can provide evidence that they undertake at least 40 hours of relevant CPD per year may apply for Fellowship (FInstCPD). Over the past 3 years I have been building a research and development programme on how to develop and sustain learning organisations in Primary Health Care in the UK, initially in General Practice teams. I have been working on this in collaboration with St Andrews University. I am also leading a similar development programme within my own organisation. I hope that being a member of the ECLO will allow me to share my experiences and learn with and from the experiences of others. I have been keen to find a network of people who are working in the same area in a range of contexts to maximise the potential for learning from each other.
