Who runs ECLO?

ECLO is led by a President and an Executive Board composed of representatives from across the membership. The President and the Executive Board are elected by the members, for a period of three years, at a legally constituted AGM.

Working closely with the Executive Board is ECLO’s Academic and Professional Practices Board. The APPB is elected following the same process as for the Executive Board.

Marc ALEN - ECLO President	Marc was born Antwerp, Belgium. He is happily married to Ingrid - a psychologist - and has two children. He is an electronics engineer from the University of Leuven and has an MBA degree from the Antwerp Handelshogeschool. After graduating, he worked for two American multinationals and subsequently became the founder and General Manager of Arboth Learning Technologies, an organisation specialising in web based learning. His main interest is how technology can support both organisations and individuals in finding ways to stimulate and enhance learning. This activity has resulted in close contacts with the Flemish Government and the European Commission. Marc Alen
Hülya Öztel	Hülya Öztel is a principal lecturer in strategic Management and knowledge management at De Montfort University. She carried out extensive research and consultancy work in the field of public-private partnership, enterprise development and training in the UK and in France. Hülya obtained a first class honours degree, from Marseilles Business School, France. She has a Masters Degree from Aston Business School, UK. She has obtained her PhD from Warwick Business School (UK) in 2005.
Andrew Haldane	He is currently managing the Flexible Learning Pathfinder at the University of Derby, an initiative supported by the Higher Education Funding Council for England concerned with the scalability of innovative flexible and work-based learning provision. Having spent his early career in industry and Business School teaching Andrew has, for the last 20 years specialised in research, consultancy and implementation in the field of Flexible and Technology Enhanced Learning and on projects concerned with widening participation. Previously he was a director of Learning Futures Ltd. and Director of SOLU (Staffordshire Open Learning Unit). During the 1990s he served for six years as Chair of BAOL (British Association for Open Learning). From 2001-2004 Andrew was Vice-chair of the PROMETEUS European expert network in technology-enhanced learning and has served as an external expert to the EU Commission unit responsible for programmes in this field. Over the past 14 years Andrew has worked as a partner in, or co-ordinator of, many national and trans-national collaborative projects in his field including seven in the EU R&D Framework programme. Andrew has been a member of the Executive Board of ECLO since 1994.
Jozefa Fawcett	Józefa is a Learning Specialist with over 33 years experience of working in the field of human resources and organisational development across private, public and not-for-profit sectors. A former Head of Organisational Development in the UK NHS and now Founding Director of OFQT Ltd http://ofqt.com specialising in quality standards, sustainable excellence and sensemaking using cognitive mapping, narrative capture, knowledge sharing, professional supervision, auditing, assessment and evaluation. Since 1997, she been a key note speaker at conferences in the UK and across Central and Eastern Europe and Eurasia. In 2009, she earned outstanding recognition from her peers, winning a Global HR Excellence Award for HR Leadership. Regularly working as a technical adviser and instructional designer on learning projects funded by the European Commission Józefa is Secretary-General of ECLO and a Senior Lecturer at University of Westminster, London, UK

Worked in education during 5 years in different jobs (history teacher, counsellor, manager). He attended Teacher Training College in Eindhoven, psychology at Utrecht university and marketing at Stanford in the USA. For more than 25 years he has been a consultant and project manager specialising in projects in political and administrative complex environments. Special interests include: values in business and politics, change strategies, coaching and knowledge management and project management as a creative process. Ruud is Chairman of the Dutch Project Management Institute (PMI) and Vice President of IPMA international.
Joe Lafferty	Joe is the leader and founder of LifeTree and is passionate about releasing people to achieve extraordinary results. Ulrich Schweiker	Ulrich is a German national with more than 30 years of change and transformation experience, as academic, internal and external consultant, HR and learning & education senior executive, as business angel and entrepreneur, working for industrial conglomerates worldwide and start-ups, for public and not-for-profit agencies alike. His educational background is in personality research, group dynamics, and organisational behaviour – combined with corporate strategy, a trained psychologist working as mentor, coach, counsellor, consultant, teacher, and lecturer. In the early 90ies he was nicknamed the European Peter Senge when he spearheaded the European System Dynamics approach to organisational learning in Europe, ever since he has been an active member of ECLO. He founded several professional Organisation Development communities of interest in the past 20 years and was also a founding member of the Knowledge Management Society in Germany. He has been married to Waltraud for more than 30 years and they live with their two children in their home in Mannheim, Germany. His main interest is the design of complex change projects, like post merger integration, de-merger, corporate restructuring, reengineering of industries “beyond the boundaries of organisations”, management buyins and buyouts, regional development and complex systems like national health and education systems.
