ECLO
is delighted to announce a workshop jointly developed with
Central Manchester and Manchester Children's University
Hospitals represented by David Settle (ECLO member) and David
Cain Director of Regeneration and Appeals.
They
are involved in a major inner-city regeneration project based
around the redevelopment of two major Manchester hospitals and
the plan to build six Academies each with their own corporate
sponsor(s)

MANCAT, who are responsible for post 16 education in Manchester,
are a co-sponsor of each of the academies.
The
event will take place on 12th March 2008 at the NOWGEN centre,
which is located in the area of the city where the Manchester
Hospitals and the Manchester universities are found. It is a
dedicated learning centre incorporating modern, bioscience
teaching facilities used by young people across Manchester and
it will be incorporated into the curriculum offering of the
Health Academy
Our
hosts have identifies certain subject areas that they would like
to explore and which are issues common to each of the six
academies regardless of the academy or partner involved.

Delegates
By
the nature of the event, attendance will limited to somewhere in
the region of 50 delegates with our hosts and their associates
providing 25-30 of them. Among this 25-30, there will be 2 from
each of the 6 business sponsors; several from MANCAT, the
organisation responsible for post 16 education in Manchester;
plus others from Manchester airport, Manchester city council,
Manchester Enterprise etc.
